GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team captured a 1-0 victory Wednesday night over visiting Franciscan in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament semifinals at Don Lyle Field.

The win vaults the top-seeded Wolverines (12-4-2) into Saturday's championship round. Grove City will host No. 2 seed Waynesburg University at 4:30 p.m. at Don Lyle Field. Waynesburg (15-2-2) downed No. 3 Saint Vincent in the other semifinal match Wednesday night, 2-0.

Junior midfielder Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored her conference-leading 16th goal of the season 13:20 into Wednesday's match, giving Grove City its 1-0 lead. Stevenson also posted her team-leading fifth game-winning score of 2025.

Grove City outshot fifth-seeded Franciscan, 17-6, including an 8-2 margin in shots on goal. The Wolverines had seven corner kicks and Franciscan recorded five corners. Grove City had a 6-1 edge in the first half in corner kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) stopped two shots to preserve Grove City's 10th straight shutout. The 10 straight shutouts are a program record.

The ninth of those 10 straight whitewashes came last Wednesday night, when Grove City earned a 4-0 victory at Waynesburg in the regular season finale. That win gave Grove City the top seed in the conference tournament.
