GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Six Grove City College swimmers earned individual wins Saturday to help vault the Wolverine women's swimming and diving team to a 174-106 win over visiting Penn State Behrend in non-conference dual meet action at James E. Longnecker Pool.
Senior
Mikaela Jenkins (Evansville, Ind./F.J. Reitz) and freshman
Hadleigh McNay (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) both won a pair of events while senior
Sarah Kuchma (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills), senior
Emma Plank (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian), sophomore
Ashley Rauhauser (York, Pa./Homeschooled) and freshman
Freja Kile (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) added victories.Â
Jenkins swept the butterfly for the Wolverines. She won the 100 fly in 1 minute, 3.06 seconds and recorded a winning time of 2:21.30 in the 200. McNay won both breaststroke events. She recorded a winning time of 1:09.27 in the 100 breaststroke, followed by a time of 2:33.00 in the 200.Â
Kuchma touched first in the 200 free (2:03.61) while Plank won the 50 free in 25.82 seconds. Rauhauser captured the 100 backstroke (1:00.48) and Kile claimed the 500 in a time of 5:32.37.
Grove City also won both relay events Saturday. Rauhauser, McNay, Jenkins and freshman
Ellie Webster (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:54.30. Kuchma, Webster, Plank and junior
Sadie Shofestall (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) wrapped up the meet by winning the 200 free relay in a time of 1:42.92.Â
Grove City (3-4) returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference action next Saturday when the Wolverines visit Washington & Jefferson at 1 p.m.
