3 earn All-Region

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Three Grove City College baseball players earned All-Region VII honors Tuesday morning from D3baseball.com in recognition of their respective performances during the 2024 season.

Senior pitcher Nick Guidas (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) earned First Team All-Region honors while freshman pitcher/infielder Sam Bevin (Louisville, Ky./Wake County) captured Second Team recognition. Junior outfielder Josh Minnich (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) earned Third Team All-Region.

Guidas led the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 2.10 earned run average this spring. He struck out a league-high 96 batters while also leading the conference with 81 1/3 innings pitched. Opponents hit .212 against Guidas, who went 6-4 in 13 starts.

The conference's 2024 Pitcher of the Year, Guidas finished his career with 258 strikeouts. That mark ranks second in program history. The left-hander's 96 strikeouts this spring also rank second on Grove City's single-season list. Guidas went 19-9 during his Grove City career, which ranks him fifth in program history in wins.

Bevin quickly became a key contributor for Grove City at the plate and on the pitcher's mound in 2024. He led Grove City with seven wins this year, finishing with a 7-3 record. Bevin struck out 59 men in 74 1/3 innings while limiting opponents to a .227 average.

He started at both second base and third base when not pitching and scored a team-leading 48 runs. Bevin hit .361 with three home runs, 25 runs batted in and 19 total extra-base hits. Bevin also posted a .460 on-base percentage, 11 stolen bases and 18 multi-hit games. He scored 25 runs in 20 conference games after moving into the top spot of the Wolverine batting order.

Bevin previously earned the conference's Newcomer of the Year award.

Minnich led Grove City with a .386 batting average, 46 runs batted in, 18 doubles and 86 total bases this year. He also paced the team with a .562 slugging percentage. Minnich led the conference with 18 doubles and ranked second in the league with 46 runs knocked in.

He started all 41 games, primarily in right field. He reached base safely in each of the final 30 games, including a 22-game hitting streak during that span. Minnich now has a .366 career batting average as a two-year starter for Grove City.

All three men also earned First Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference this spring. Grove City finished 27-14 overall, including a 15-5 record in conference play.

Region VII includes the Presidents' Athletic Conference, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the North Coast Athletic Conference, the Ohio Athletic Conference and University Athletic Association member Case Western Reserve.
