GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College fifth-year senior Rachael Wallace (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) has earned an invitation to compete in the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held March 20-23 in Greensboro, N.C.

Wallace qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 55.54 seconds. That time ranks 23rd nationally in NCAA Division III this season. The top 26 performers in each event earned selection to the national championships. 

Wallace recorded that time in the preliminaries of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, held last month at the College. She earned the conference's Most Valuable Performer award after winning the 100 butterfly, the 200 butterfly and the 200 individual medley at this year's conference championships. Wallace also earned First Team All-PAC distinction.

The 100 butterfly will be held Thursday, March 21. Wallace will begin competition March 20 when she competes in the 50-yard freestyle. She will also compete in the 200 butterfly, scheduled for Friday, March 22. 

Wallace will be seeded 48th in the 50 free with a season-best time of 24.31 seconds. Her top 200 butterfly time of 2:05.88 ranks 30th among those entered at the national championships. 

The top 16 performers in each event will earn All-America honors. Wallace will be making her first trip to the NCAA Championships.
