GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College senior baseball player Tate Ostrowski (Essex, Mass./Covenant Christian) earned Division III First Team All-Region 7 honors Tuesday afternoon from a pair of national outlets in recognition of his performance during the 2022 season. The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com both recognized Ostrowski as a First Team selection.

The 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, Ostrowski led the league with a 1.63 earned run average, 93 strikeouts, 88 1/3 innings pitched and a .181 opponents batting average. Ostrowski went 8-1, along with one save in his 16 total appearances (13 starts) this spring.

He set a single-season program record with 93 strikeouts. His 1.63 ERA is the lowest for a Grove City pitcher since the introduction of metal bats in 1974. Last season, Ostrowski 8-2 with a 1.78 ERA. He earned All-Mideast Region recognition from the ABCA and D3baseball.com in 2021.

Ostrowski is NCAA Division III's active career leader in earned run average, 1.67. He owns a 17-3 career record and ranks second all-time at the College with 183 strikeouts. 

Ostrowski helped Grove City to a 28-14 overall record in 2022. The 28 wins matched the single-season program record.

The ABCA and D3baseball.com will announce their respective Division III All-America teams later this week.
