Box Score WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 4-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by pulling out a 25-21, 20-25, 26-24, 30-28 victory Tuesday night at Waynesburg in conference action at Rudy Marisa Field House. Grove City (9-5 overall) rallied from deficits of 17-11 and 23-20 in the fourth set to secure the win.
Junior
Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) helped lead Grove City to the win by recording 15 kills. Sophomore
Grace Kim (Sanford, N.C./Homeschooled) pounded out 13 kills while classmate
Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) contributed eight kills. Freshman
Audrey Donnelly (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) added seven kills.
Freshmen setters
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) and
Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) combined for 41 assists. Kerr recorded 22 assists and Kenlein tallied 19 assists.
Kerr also served five aces while Kenlein and freshman
Mya Lathem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) both served two aces. Grove City had a dozen aces in Tuesday's win.
Donnelly and Kim both had four total blocks to help lead the defense. DeGraaf added three blocks. Lathem led the Wolverines with 35 digs, Keating collected 34 digs and Kim chalked up 31 digs. Kenlein (16) and Kerr (11) both had double-digit dig totals.Â
Grove City will host Franciscan at 7 p.m. Thursday in conference play. The Wolverines are 5-0 in the Grove City College Arena.
