MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team opened the 2021-22 dual meet schedule Saturday afternoon by battling host Allegheny to a 142-142 tie in non-conference action at Mellon Pool.
Three Grove City performers earned multiple victories Saturday. Junior
Sarah Gann (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Lewis Central) won the 200 free in a time of 2 minutes, 2.42 seconds. She then won the 500 in 5:38.85. Classmate
Rachael Wallace (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) took the 100 butterfly in 1:01.41 and later added a win in the 200 individual medley (2:18.00).
Freshman
Kamryn Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) swept the diving events for the Wolverines. She won 1-meter diving with a score of 247.74 points. Kerr then posted a victorious sum of 200.05 points in 3-meter diving.
Junior
Rachel Ledford (Butler, Pa./Butler) won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.67 for Grove City (0-0-1).
Saturday's result marks the second tie in program history. Grove City tied Gannon, 136-136, November 21, 2015.
Grove City returns to action November 6 with a double dual meet in Fredonia, N.Y. at 12 p.m. The Wolverines will face Fredonia State and Geneseo State.
