WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's cross country team wrapped up the 2016 regular season at the Wooster Twilight 5K on Friday evening on the Carl Munson Track at John P. Papp Stadium.
Freshman
Heidi Hoffman (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) led the Wolverines by finishing as the runner-up among the 59-runner field with a five-kilometer time of 18:45.6 while sophomore
Maggie Bauman (Hampton, Pa./Hampton) joined her in the top five with a fifth-place mark of 19:19.6. Sophomore
Emily Yuse (Northfield, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) placed 10th in 19:34.2, just ahead of freshman
Madelyn Kimpel (Columbiana, Ohio/South Range), who took 11th in 19:35.1.
Freshmen
Abbie Schmader (Fryburg, Pa./Clarion) and
Madison McKivergan (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) were 16th and 17th, respectively, with times of 19:47.6 and 19:52.0 while fellow freshman
Ellie Bell (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) also broke the 20-minute mark with a 19th-place time of 19:55.9.
Junior
Lacey Murray (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut), freshman
Brenna Rupe (Cortland, Ohio/McDonald) and freshman
Allison Hollenbaugh (Mercer, Pa./Lakeview) all finished in the top 25, taking 22nd (20:04.5), 23rd (20:10.7) and 24th (20:10.7).
Grove City returns to action on Saturday, November 12 when the Wolverines' top seven runners will compete at the 2016 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships, hosted by DeSales. The women's six-kilometer race begins at 11 a.m.
