NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Sophomore
Colsen Frank (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) won the individual title Friday evening at Westminster College's season-opening Fisher Invitational as the Grove City College men's cross country team placed second in the six-team event.
Grove City placed nine men in the top 16 and finished with 37 points. Geneva won the event with 25 points.
Frank completed the 5,000-meter course in a victorious time of 16 minutes, 16.0 seconds. Sophomore
Kaiden Williams (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) joined Frank in the top 10 as he finished seventh in a time of 17:01.3. Freshman
Carson Witt (North Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) followed in eighth place with a time of 17:03.3.
Fellow freshman
Isaac Burtt (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) captured 11th place (17:10.5) while sophomore
Tyler Davis (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) followed in 12th place by posting a time of 17:12.8. Sophomore
Sam Elston (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) finished 13th in 17:18.7 and senior
James Yoho (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) followed in 14th (17:19.6) to round out the scoring lineup.
Freshmen
Isaac Esh (New Providence, Pa./Solanco) and
Luke Ray (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) respectively finished in 15th and 16th. Esh recorded a time of 17:21.3 while Ray completed the course in 17:21.6.
Seventy-five men competed in Friday's race.
Grove City returns to action Saturday, September 26 at the Lock Haven Invitational.
