GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to visiting Carnegie Mellon (5-1-1) in the completion of a suspended non-conference match Wednesday afternoon at Don Lyle Field. The match began September 9 at Carnegie Mellon but inclement weather halted the game after 11 minutes of play.
Carnegie Mellon began play Wednesday with a 1-0 lead after Caroline Klauder scored at the 1:41 mark two weeks ago. Audrey Bianco added a pair of goals Wednesday to give CMU a 3-0 halftime lead.
Grove City broke through at 51:28 when sophomore forward
Emily Horst (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) scored her fifth goal of the season. Senior forward
Hannah Plunkard (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) and junior forward
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) both recorded assists on the Horst goal.
Saveria Ulizzi and Kiera Chang scored in the second half for CMU, which held a 22-7 edge in total shots. The Tartans had six corner kicks while Grove City (5-1-2) had two corners.

Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) made five saves in 64:22 of action. Sophomore
Ella Lotz (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) played the final 25:38 and made two saves.
Grove City returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Saturday by hosting Waynesburg University at 1 p.m.
