CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Freshman midfielder
Ava Soley (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored goals in each half Saturday afternoon to help vault the Grove City College women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory at No. 11 Case Western Reserve (4-1) in non-conference action at DiSanto Field.
Soley gave Grove City a 1-0 lead at the 30:59 mark when she scored her fourth goal of the season. Senior midfielder
Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) assisted the goal, which turned out to be the game-winner.
Soley doubled the lead at 79:13 with her second goal after receiving an assist from junior forward
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley).
Grove City (3-0-1) held a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. Case Western Reserve outshot the Wolverines overall, 12-8.

Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) secured her first full shutout of the season by making three saves. Saturday's win marked Grove City's third straight shutout win after a season-opening 4-4 draw September 1 at Penn State Behrend.
The victory is Grove City's first in five all-time meetings against Case Western Reserve. Stevenson has at least one point in each of the first matches. She has 17 points this year and ranks sixth in program history with 89 points. She leads the team with seven goals while Soley sits second on the squad with five goals.
Grove City opens its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule at 7 p.m. Wednesday, when the Wolverines host Bethany at Don Lyle Field.
