BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team improved to 6-1 overall by securing a 25-21, 25-11, 21-25, 25-11 victory Friday night over St. Lawrence (2-3) in the opening night of play at the Brockport State Tournament.
Senior
Sarah Hart (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) paced Grove City's offensive attack by racking up 16 kills. Sophomore
Taylor Ripple (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) recorded nine kills while junior
Lilly Pool (Huntington, Ind./Ashland, Ohio) had eight kills.
Seniors
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) and
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) both authored six kills.
Junior setter
Brooke Manfull (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) had a team-leading 21 assists while senior
Sarah Harris (Lebanon, Ohio/Mars Hill) finished with 14 assists. Klusch served three aces.
Pool and Ripple both had three blocks to help pace the Grove City defense. Junior libero
Lilly Wojtala (Copley, Ohio/Revere) chalked up a team-leading 11 digs. Harris and rookie
Reagan Riordan (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny) each added six digs.
Grove City returns to action Saturday with two more matches at Brockport. The Wolverines face the hosts at 12 p.m., then close the weekend with a 3 p.m. match against Hilbert.
