GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team opened the 2026 season Tuesday night with a 25-11, 25-11, 25-19 victory over visiting La Roche (0-1) in a non-conference clash at the Grove City College Arena.
Senior
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) paced Grove City's balanced attack with five kills. Senior
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton), junior
Lilly Pool (Huntington, Ind./Ashland, Ohio), sophomore
Ella D'Ippolito (Mars, Pa./Eden Christian) and sophomore
Caitlyn Garrett (Sewickley, Pa./Eden Christian) all contributed four kills.
Junior setter
Brooke Manfull (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) tallied 11 assists. Senior
Sarah Harris (Lebanon, Ohio/Mars Hill) added seven assists.
Freshman
Caitlin Penola (Zionsville, Ind.) served three aces and Manfull added two aces.
Pool paced the defense with seven total blocks. Klusch recorded four blocks. Senior
Sarah Hart (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) and sophomore
Taylor Ripple (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) both had three blocks.
Junior
Lilly Wojtala (Copley, Ohio/Revere) tallied seven digs. Penola posted six digs.
Grove City will open its road schedule this Friday and Saturday with four matches at the Saint Vincent Bearcat Invitational in Latrobe. Grove City faces Wooster and Penn State Behrend to begin the tournament, starting at 4 p.m. Friday.
