INDIANAPOLIS -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team produced All-America performances in two events Friday night at the NCAA Division III Championships, held at the Indiana University Natatorium.
Senior
Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) earned All-America in the 100 breaststroke by taking eighth place in Friday night's finals with a time of 53.88 seconds. He recorded a time of 53.70 seconds during Friday's preliminary session.
Grove City also earned All-America status in the 200 medley relay after winning the consolation final Friday night. Einolf, junior
Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian), junior
Bryce Pope (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Valley Christian) and freshman
George Witte (Columbia, S.C./Covenant Classical Christian) combined for a school-record time of 1 minute, 28.02 seconds to earn ninth place overall.
Hancock also competed in the 100 backstroke preliminaries Friday morning and finished 31st with a time of 49.69 seconds.
Grove City currently sits 16th in the team standings with 53 points.
Saturday will be the final day of the four-day Championships. Grove City's four competitors will compete in the 400 free relay preliminaries.
