GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference honored two Grove City College women's lacrosse players Monday afternoon with week recognition after the duo helped the Wolverines to a pair of non-conference victories last week.
Junior midfielder
Jess Robinette (Mohnton, Pa./Twin Valley) earned the league's Offensive Player of the Week award and freshman defender
Gabri Hallam (Buffalo, N.Y./Clarence) captured Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
Robinette scored four goals and added an assist last Wednesday in Grove City's come-from-behind 13-10 win over visiting Fredonia State at Don Lyle Field. Saturday, Robinette posted another four-goal outing as the Wolverines secured a 9-7 win at Buffalo State.
Robinette scored the eventual game-winner with 2:09 remaining in the third quarter and then helped sew up the win with a goal at the 2:08 mark of the final period. She also had two assists and four ground balls at Buffalo State.
Robinette leads Grove City with 21 goals and 28 points. She leads the conference in both categories. Her 20 ground balls are second on the squad.
Hallam caused four turnovers while also recording four ground balls and five draw controls Wednesday against Fredonia State. She then caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls at Buffalo State.
Hallam ranks second in the conference with 26 caused turnovers. That figure ranks second in the conference. She also has 29 ground balls, which also ranks second in the league.
Riding a four-game win streak, Grove City (4-3) will open conference play at 6 p.m. Wednesday when the Wolverines host Geneva at Don Lyle Field.
