GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team's bid for a five-match winning streak ended Friday night as visiting Randolph (6-2) slipped past the Wolverines in the opening night of the Grove City Invitational, 26-24, 19-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-11 at the Grove City College Arena.
Junior right side hitter
Carson Good (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) paced Grove City (5-5) with 10 kills while senior
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled), junior
Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and junior
Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) all posted eight kills.
Junior setter
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) recorded 32 assists while directing the offense.
Malcolm led the defense with six total blocks. Good added three blocks. Sophomore
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and freshman
Evan DiMalanta (Medina, Ohio/Highland) each chalked up 13 digs. Gianneski tallied 10 digs.
Grove City will play twice Saturday at home. The Wolverines face Olivet at 10 a.m. Saturday, then close the quadrupleheader with a 4 p.m. clash against Mount Aloysius.
