BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team never trailed Wednesday night on the way to a 73-67 victory at longtime rival Geneva in Presidents' Athletic Conference North Division action at Metheny Field House. Grove City jumped out to a 14-2 lead in the first five minutes of the game and led 39-32 at halftime.

Kyle Randle (Willowick, Ohio/Eastlake North) scored 8 of his game-high 22 points during Grove City's game-opening outburst. Senior forward
Mike Christenson (Oakton, Va./Trinity) posted 15 points while junior guard
Colton Martin (Centerburg, Ohio/Centerburg) tallied 14 points.Â

Austin Johncour (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) went 6 of 8 from the field as part of a 12-point performance.
Geneva opened the second half on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 39. Grove City quickly reclaimed the lead for good, though, as Christenson sank two free throws and Johncour buried a jumper.Â
The Wolverines used a 7-0 run down the stretch to take a 68-58 lead with 4:46 remaining. Christenson started the run with a three-point play, then hit a jumper after a Johncour layup.Â
Grove City finished the game 28 of 63 (44 percent) from the field while Geneva finished 25 of 55 (46 percent) on field goals. Grove City's 14 offensive rebounds helped the Wolverines accumulate a 33-30 margin on the glass. Johncour hauled in eight rebounds and junior forward
Caleb Haller (Delaware, Ohio/Marion Hawks) collected six rebounds.Â
Randle added five steals as Grove City (8-12, 5-6) forced 14 Geneva turnovers. The Wolverines turned over the ball eight times. Martin assisted three field goals.Â
Jonathan Bertovich led Geneva (8-12, 5-6) with 20 points. Geneva opened the conference schedule December 3 with a 64-52 win at Grove City.
The Wolverines will visit Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference interdivisional play Saturday at 3 p.m.
