Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

League win highlights split

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team went 1-1 Saturday while hosting a tri-match in the Grove City College Arena. The Wolverines opened the day with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-21 victory over Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Bethany.

Visiting Penn State Behrend captured a 25-19, 26-24, 25-23 win over the Wolverines (8-10, 1-3 PAC) in the nightcap.

Junior Carson Good (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) posted a team-leading 11 kills in the opener against Bethany while junior Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) contributed eight kills. Junior Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) chipped in six kills. 

Junior setter Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) recorded 30 assists. Sophomore Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) served two aces. 

Senior Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled) tallied five blocks. Fair added a pair of blocks. Freshman libero Evan DiMalanta (Medina, Ohio/Highland) led the defense with 12 digs. Otto collected nine digs. 

Malcolm pounded out 10 kills against Behrend while Gianneski and Otto each had nine kills. Good contributed six kills. Fair finished with 32 assists. 

Defensively, DiMalanta delivered 16 digs. Good chalked up seven digs. Malcolm tallied a team-best three blocks. 

Grove City will host another tri-match next Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. The Wolverines host conference foe Chatham at noon before hosting Nazareth in the 4 p.m. finale.
