Wolverines win 8th straight crown

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team clinched its eighth straight Presidents' Athletic Conference title Saturday night by concluding the four-day 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships with 1,063 team points. Saint Vincent (710) edged Washington & Jefferson (697) for runner-up honors. 

Junior Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian) earned the conference's Most Valuable Performer award after winning three individual events at the Championships. He won the 200 individual medley in a pool- and conference-record time of 1 minute, 51.53 seconds, then set pool and conference records in the 100 butterfly with a time of 47.52 seconds. 

Hancock also won the 100 backstroke in 48.86 seconds, setting pool and conference marks in that event. 

Saturday night, Hancock joined freshman George Witte (Columbia, S.C./Covenant Classical Christian), junior Bryce Pope (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Valley Classical) and senior Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) on Grove City's winning 400 free relay team. That foursome posted a time of 3:03.52.

Pope and Witte also recorded individual wins. Pope won the 200 breaststroke in 2:05.93 while Witte won the 200 backstroke in 1:51.66. Senior Logan Myers (Middleburg, Fla./Homeschooled) took first in the 200 butterfly (1:55.30).

Einolf earned second in the 100 free (44.43). Junior Andrew Buxbaum (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.55) and freshman Connor Morgan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) finished runner-up in the 1650 (16:46.36). 

Morgan edged sophomore Aidan McCarthy (Knoxville, Tenn./Christian Academy of Knoxville) by .01 seconds in the 1650. McCarthy finished third.

Junior Josh Remlinger (Granville, Ohio/Granville) took third in the 200 butterfly (1:59.60) while sophomore Ryan Turner (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) captured third in the 100 free with a time of 46.73 seconds. Freshman Josh Langworthy (Bowdoinham, Maine/Mount Ararat) captured third in the 200 backstroke (1:55.66).

Senior Sam Thayer (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) finished fourth in the 1650 (17:11.19) while classmate Emmett Wilson (Laconia, N.H./Homeschooled) took fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.27).

Junior Charlie Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) finished fifth in the 200 backstroke (2:00.76). Freshman Patrick Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) secured fifth in the 100 free, recording a time of 48.22 seconds. 

Senior Caden Ondrejko (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic, W.Va.) took sixth place in the 200 butterfly, posting a time of 2:04.42.

The Wolverines have now won 26 Presidents' Athletic Conference titles since joining the league prior to the 1984-85 season. Grove City has 34 total conference titles, which includes eight Penn-Ohio titles in the 1950s and 1960s.
