Another record-setting night for Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team continued its record-setting performance at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships by breaking four James E. Longnecker Pool records and three conference standards Friday night. 

Overall, Grove City won six events Friday night to extend its lead in the team standings at the four-day event. The Wolverines have 734 team points, good for a 226-point margin over Washington & Jefferson (508). Saint Vincent is third with 489 points.

Junior Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian) prevailed in the 100 backstroke with a time of 48.86 seconds. That mark surpassed the previous school, conference and facility standards. He also set school, league and pool records in the 100 butterfly with a winning time of 47.52 seconds.

Senior Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) won the 100 breaststroke in a school-, conference- and pool-record time of 52.79 seconds.

Einolf, Hancock, junior Bryce Pope (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Valley Classical) and freshman George Witte (Columbia, S.C./Covenant Classical Christian) closed Friday night's session by winning the 200 free relay in 1:21.24. That time is a pool and school record.

Witte also won the 200 free in a time of 1:41.74. Senior Logan Myers (Middleburg, Fla./Homeschooled) opened Friday night's competition by winning the 400 individual medley. Myers touched the wall in 4:07.51.

Witte's win in the 200 free led a 1-2-3-4 sweep. Sophomore Ryan Turner (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) took second in 1:43.54 while freshman Patrick Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) secured third place (1:43.98). Sophomore Aidan McCarthy (Knoxville, Tenn./Christian Academy of Knoxville) finished fourth in the 200 free (1:45.39).

Pope added a runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke (55.98) while junior Josh Remlinger (Granville, Ohio/Granville) took second in the 100 butterfly (52.41). 

Senior Caden Ondrejko (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic, W.Va.) finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (53.17) while senior Emmett Wilson (Laconia, N.H./Homeschooled) placed fourth in the 100 breastsroke (58.62). Freshman Connor Morgan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) added a fourth-place arrival in the 400 individual medley (4:21.05).

Junior Andrew Buxbaum (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) took fifth in the 100 breaststroke (58.94). Junior Charlie Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) posted a fifth-place time of 53.21 seconds in the 100 butterfly.

Saturday's preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. The finals will commence at 5 p.m.
