GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Senior attack
Stewart McClain (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) scored a man-up goal 42 seconds into overtime to give the Grove City College men's lacrosse team a 14-13 home victory Saturday afternoon over No. 19 Ohio Wesleyan (0-1) at Robert E. Thorn Field.
Grove City (1-1) trailed 13-12 with 2:41 left in regulation but senior attack
Rigdon Greene (Marietta, Ga./Pope) scored his third goal of the afternoon to forge the fifth tie of the game. In overtime, Grove City went up a man after a pushing penalty and 25 seconds into the penalty, Greene assisted McClain's game-winning goal.
Greene finished with three assists while McClain scored three times. Junior attack

Ethan Binns (Saint Johns, Fla./The Bolles School) both scored twice. The Wolverines also received goals from senior defender

Ryan and Schneider both had two assists while Binns added an assist. Junior midfielder

Tyler Blazek (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) and freshman midfielder
Mason Lyons (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) also recorded assists.
Greene's first two goals, Ryan's tally and man-up goals from Binns and Strong gave Grove City a 5-1 lead. Ohio Wesleyan tied the game with four straight goals in the second quarter. McClain scored with 66 seconds left in the half to put Grove City up at halftime, 6-5.
The Battling Bishops charged out to a 9-6 lead with another four-goal flurry in the third quarter. Ohio Wesleyan led 10-8 entering the fourth quarter. Goals from Stevenson and McClain pulled Grove City even, 12-12, with seven minutes remaining.
Grove City held a 47-44 edge in shots. Ohio Wesleyan had 28 shots on goal while Grove City had 24. Senior goalie
Tyler Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) earned the win by making 15 saves.
OWU turned over possession 27 times and Grove City committed 19 turnovers. Stevenson and senior defender
Andrew Glasgow (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) both caused three turnovers.

Logan Fox (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian) led Grove City with six ground balls. Stevenson and senior faceoff specialist
Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) each had four ground balls.
This is Grove City's first overtime victory since an 18-17 overtime win May 13, 2023 over Swarthmore in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. All-time, the Wolverines are now 4-4 in overtime.
Grove City will host Franciscan at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener at Thorn Field.
