CRESSON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team had its final preparation Thursday night before the start of Presidents' Athletic Conference play next week by sweeping host Mount Aloysius in a non-conference match, 25-6, 25-22, 25-18 at the Athletic Convocation Center.
Freshman
Evan DiMalanta (Medina, Ohio/Highland) led Grove City's offensive attack with 10 kills. Junior
Carson Good (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) recorded eight kills while junior
Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) added seven kills.
Freshman setter
Thomas Krahe (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland) made his first start and chalked up 29 assists. DiMalanta served two of Grove City's six aces.
Senior middle blocker
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled) racked up five blocks while junior middle blocker
Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) added four blocks.
Sophomore libero
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) recorded a team-leading 10 digs. Gianneski tallied eight digs and DiMalanta delivered seven digs.
Grove City (7-6) will host Thiel at 7 p.m. next Wednesday in the conference opener.
