LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped a 61-48 decision Saturday afternoon at Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference interdivisional play at the Carey Center.

Meredith Sherrerd (New Braunfels, Texas/New Braunfels) led Grove City (11-6, 5-3) with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting while senior guard
Reese Hasley (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) tossed in 14 points. Sherrerd also recorded 11 rebounds to secure her second straight double-double.
Grove City closed the first half on a 15-5 run to take a 28-26 halftime lead. Sherrerd and Hasley hit consecutive field goals to spark the comeback. Senior center
Emma Ulmer (Northumberland, Pa./Northumberland Christian) gave Grove City a 23-21 lead by draining three straight jumpers.
Sherrerd's three-point play and subsequent jumper with one minute left in the half capped the outburst.
Saint Vincent surged to a 46-34 lead by the end of the third quarter, however, as Grove City went 1 of 16 from the field in the period. Grove City finished the game 20 of 56 (36 percent) from the field while South Division leader Saint Vincent (13-4, 8-0) finished 21 of 59 (36 percent) on field goal attempts.
Hasley hauled in nine rebounds as Grove City attained a 41-33 advantage in that category. She also had four assists while Sherrerd assisted three field goals.
Grove City turned over the ball 21 times, which led to 25 Saint Vincent points. The Bearcats had 12 turnovers.
Camdon Bashor led Saint Vincent with 14 points.
Grove City will open the second half of the conference schedule Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. when the Wolverines host Hiram in North Division play at the Grove City College Arena.
