PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped an 84-54 decision Saturday afternoon at Chatham in Presidents' Athletic Conference interdivisional play at the Chatham Athletic Center. Grove City made only 2 of its first 13 field goal attempts as Chatham (10-5, 3-3) jumped out to a 22-4 lead.
Senior center
Meredith Sherrerd (New Braunfels, Texas/New Braunfels) led Grove City (10-5, 4-2) with 17 points while senior guard
Reese Hasley (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) added 10 points. Sophomore guard
Kailey Devlin (Turbotville, Pa./Meadowbrook Christian) chipped in eight points.
Chatham led 27-12 after one quarter but back-to-back Sherrerd field goals cut the lead to 27-17. The Cougars extended the lead to 43-24 by halftime, however.
Grove City shot 20 of 52 (39 percent) from the field for the game. Chatham went 33 of 67 (49 percent) from the floor, including an 11-of-18 performance in the first quarter.

Bethany Thompson (Exeter Township, Pa./High Point Baptist), junior forward
Brooke McCoy (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) and sophomore forward
Alexis Hudson (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) all had five rebounds for Grove City. Chatham earned a 38-34 edge on the glass.
Hasley dished out a season-high seven assists. Grove City had 23 turnovers while Chatham turned over the ball 15 times.
Alyssa Laukus led Chatham with 25 points.
Grove City will host Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference North Division play Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
