BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team opened the 2025 season Thursday evening by competing in the West Liberty Invitational, held at Bethany College. The Wolverines placed seventh out of 11 teams by accumulating a team score of 196. Point Park won the team title with 43 points.
Four Grove City runners placed in the top 50. Sophomore
Rebekah Burger (San Diego, Calif./Cambridge) made her Grove City debut by placing 29th overall. Burger completed the course in 20 minutes, 15.7 seconds.
Senior
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished 34th in a time of 20:30.7 while sophomore
Julianna Lindberg (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) took 40th in 21:05.5. Freshman
Erika Doolittle (Clarington, Pa./Brookville) finished 45th in her collegiate debut after recording a time of 21:27.3.
Sophomore
Maggie Mollenauer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) finished 57th (22:02.5) while classmate
Abigail Nelson (Cheverly, Md.) followed in 58th by posting a time of 22:02.8. Junior
Annie Herrmann (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) took 60th (22:11.9), rounding out the scoring lineup.
Point Park sophomore Cassandra O'Connor won the race in a time of 18:03.8. Ninety-two women competed in the event, which featured eight NCAA Division II programs.
Grove City returns to action September 20 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Preview meet in Meadville.
