PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College men's soccer team opened its road schedule Wednesday night by earning a 1-1 draw at perennial powerhouse Carnegie Mellon (1-0-2) in non-conference action.
Grove City (0-1-1) grabbed a 1-0 lead at 31:58 when sophomore midfielder
Evan Yoder (Milton, Pa./Milton) scored his first goal of the season. Yoder gained possession from a CMU defender, then drilled his shot off the post and into the net for his first collegiate goal.
CMU tied the match 11 minutes later when Nicholas Kourakis scored at 42:39.
Grove City outshot the Tartans in the first half, 7-4. CMU finished with a 13-9 edge in total shots. The Tartans had seven shots on goal while Grove City had two shots on goal. The Wolverines earned an 8-7 edge in corner kicks.

Keller Krieger (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence) made his first collegiate start for the Wolverines, stopping six shots.Â
Wednesday's deadlock marked the second straight tie between the teams. The teams played to a 1-1 draw last year in Grove City.
Grove City returns home Friday to host Oberlin at 6 p.m. in non-conference action at Don Lyle Field.
