HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team earned a 2-0 win Friday evening at Hope College in non-conference action at Van Andel Stadium. The Wolverines (3-2-1) scored in each half on the way to their third shutout win of the season.
Sophomore midfielder
Luke Ladas (Parsippany Hills, N.J./Parsippany Hills) gave Grove City a 1-0 lead when he scored his third goal of the season 3:30 into the match. Junior
Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) assisted Ladas's goal.Â
Gray doubled the lead at 63:29 by scoring on a free kick from 20 yards out. It is Gray's third goal of the season. He and Ladas share the team lead in scoring.Â
Freshman goalie
Keller Krieger (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence) stopped five shots to secure the shutout win. Hope (3-4-1) outshot Grove City, 26-8, including a 5-2 margin in shots on goal. Each team had two corner kicks.Â
Hope advanced to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.Â
Saturday, the Wolverines will face another 2024 NCAA Tournament participant when Grove City visits Calvin for a 6 p.m. non-conference match in Grand Rapids, Mich.
