ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team concluded its season-opening weekend trip to western New York by dropping a 2-0 decision Saturday afternoon to Nazareth in non-conference action at Golden Flyer Stadium.
Nazareth (2-0) scored in each half Saturday. Shannon Sgombick gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead by scoring at 13:55. Paige Barlow doubled the lead with a goal at 79:26.
Nazareth owned an 18-5 edge in shots and a 6-3 corner kick advantage.
Junior goalkeeper
Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) stopped three shots for Grove City (0-1-1).
Grove City opens its home schedule next Saturday at 1 p.m. by hosting Case Western Reserve at Don Lyle Field.
