2025 football schedule available

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Two non-conference games against national powerhouses and a rugged eight-game Presidents' Athletic Conference slate comprise the Grove City College football team's 2025 schedule.

The 2025 schedule features an even split between home and away games as the Wolverines will begin and end the season on the road this autumn. Grove City's first three games will be against teams that competed in the NCAA Division III playoffs last season.

The 131st season of Grove City football begins September 6 when the Wolverines visit Cortland, N.Y. It will be the first regular season meeting between the programs. Cortland edged Grove City, 25-24, in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Division III playoffs on the way to the national title.

It will also be Grove City's first regular season game in New York since a 14-6 win November 11, 2006 at Kings Point.

The Wolverines open the home schedule September 13 when defending national runner-up Mount Union makes its first trip to town since September 29, 1979. Mount Union finished 14-1 in 2024. It will be the ninth all-time meeting between the regional foes. Grove City faced Mount Union eight times during the 1970s, with the Purple Raiders winning seven of the eight games.

Following an open date, the Wolverines open conference play by hosting Washington & Jefferson in the annual night game at Robert E. Thorn Field. The teams shared the conference title last season with both squads advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

That will be the first of two straight night games for Grove City. The following Saturday, October 4, Grove City visits longtime rival Geneva for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Beaver Falls.

The College will celebrate Homecoming 2025 the next weekend as Waynesburg University comes to Robert E. Thorn Field for a 2 p.m. kickoff October 11. Due to various schedule quirks and changes to the conference schedule format over the years, this will be Waynesburg's first trip to Thorn Field in seven years.

Grove City's lone late afternoon kickoff will take place October 18 as the Wolverines journey to Allegheny. It will be Grove City's third trip to Meadville in the last four seasons.

The Wolverines conclude their home schedule with back-to-back games at Thorn Field against Westminster and Saint Vincent. Grove City hosts local rival Westminster in Week Eight on October 25 before welcoming Saint Vincent for Senior Day seven days later. Both games kick off at 1 p.m.

Consecutive trips to northeast Ohio conclude the regular season. Grove City will visit Case Western Reserve at 1 p.m. November 8.

The following Saturday, the Wolverines visit Hiram for the first time since the 2022 opener. Hiram has rejoined the conference after competing in the PAC from 1971 to 1989. Grove City's first-ever PAC game came against Hiram in 1984.

Grove City will not play Bethany or Thiel this year due to the conference's unbalanced schedule format.

The Wolverines' series with Westminster dates back to 1892. The series with Geneva and Washington & Jefferson both began in 1893 while the Grove City-Allegheny football series started in 1899. Grove City first played Waynesburg in 1903.

Head coach Andrew DiDonato and his staff will welcome approximately 140 hopefuls to preseason camp August 13.
