Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

6th straight win for Grove City

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to six games by capturing a 14-2 victory Wednesday evening at Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at UPMC Field. 

Grove City (8-5, 7-0) charged out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter, then pushed the lead to 13-0 by halftime. Sophomore attack Taylor Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) fired in three goals and added five assists to help lead the Wolverines' balanced attack. 

Sophomore midfielder Jess Robinette (Mohnton, Pa./Twin Valley) scored three times and assisted two other scores. Senior midfielder Abby Roetering (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) contributed a pair of goals. Grove City also received goals from senior attack Anna Korzeniewski (Boyds, Md./Clarksburg), senior defender Amber Wartman (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron), sophomore attack Gwen Shilling (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), sophomore midfielder Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler), freshman midfielder Ella Krabitz (Catonsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) and freshman midfielder Mia Mygatt (Silver Spring, Md./Brookewood). 

Junior attack Grace Forry (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) added an assist for the Wolverines, who held a 34-12 edge in total shots. 

Senior goalie Elyse Kiggins (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) made two saves in 31 minutes, 40 seconds of scoreless action. Junior Mia Gallagher (Mogadore, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) stopped three shots over the final 28:20.

Senior defender Emily Arnold (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) collected four ground balls while Wartman and senior midfielder Maddie Krabitz (Catonsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) both had three ground balls. Wartman also had four draw controls and junior defender Reese Hasley (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) had three draw controls.

Grove City finished the game with 25 turnovers while Saint Vincent had 27 turnovers. 

The Wolverines will host Mount Union at 3 p.m. Saturday in non-conference action at Robert E. Thorn Field.
