GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-8 decision Saturday afternoon on Senior Day to visiting Mount Union (10-4) in non-conference action at Robert E. Thorn Field. Mount Union outscored the Wolverines in the second half, 9-3.
Grove City scored three times in the final 2:45 of the first quarter to forge a 4-4 tie. Sophomore attack
Taylor Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and sophomore midfielder
Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored in a 43-second span after each received an assist from senior midfielder
Abby Roetering (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg).
Roetering tied the game with 13 seconds left in the quarter after fielding a pass from sophomore midfielder

Mount Union scored the first five goals of the second period to take the lead for good, however.Â
Sophomore attack
Gwen Shilling (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) led Grove City (8-6) with three goals. Robinette scored twice. Blythe also had two assists while Shilling and Stevenson added assists.Â
Roetering caused four turnvoers while senior defender
Amber Wartman (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) caused two turnovers. Roetering also led the Wolverines with six ground balls. Shilling and senior goalie
Elyse Kiggins (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) each picked up four ground balls.Â
Kiggins made two saves. Mount Union outshot the Wolverines, 32-19, including a 21-13 edge in shots on goal.Â
Grove City turned over possession 28 times. Mount Union had 23 turnovers.

Emily Arnold (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) and Shilling each netted five draw controls.Â

The Wolverines return to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Tuesday at 5 p.m. when they host Bethany at Don Lyle Field.
