STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team maintained first place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by capturing a 28-2 win Wednesday night at Franciscan in conference play at Trinity Health System Field. The Wolverines (9-6, 6-0) led 9-0 after one quarter and eventually built a 23-0 lead in the second half. 
The Wolverines amassed a 62-24 edge in total shots, including a 37-9 margin in shots on goal. Grove City also won 31 of 33 faceoffs. 
Eight men scored multiple goals for Grove City, led by a five-goal performance from freshman attack 
Cole Pedroso (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin). Sophomore attack 
Sawyer Strong (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) racked up four goals and four assists as part of a career-best eight points while sophomore attack 
Davis Schneider (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton Academy) collected three goals and four assists. 
Junior attacks 
Rigdon Greene (Marietta, Ga./Pope) and 
Stewart McClain (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) both scored two goals, as did sophomore midfielder 
Breck Peacock (Wayne, Ill./Wheaton Academy), freshman midfielder 
Ethan Binns (Saint Johns, Fla./The Bolles School) and graduate student midfielder (West Chester, Pa./Tatnall, Del.).

Evan Gill (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) won 26 of 27 faceoffs and secured a career-high 18 ground balls. Schneider, senior midfielder

Junior goalie 
Tyler Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) earned the win after playing a scoreless first half. He stopped four shots. Sophomore 
Kyle Gill (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) made three saves in the second half. 
Grove City finished with 18 turnovers. Franciscan committed 21 turnovers. 
Winners of four straight, Grove City steps out of conference play Saturday to face New England power Connecticut College at 5 p.m. in Sparks, Md., at U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters.
