SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's track and field team captured eighth place Saturday at the 26-team Slippery Rock University Dave Labor Invitational, held at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Grove City finished the meet with 34 points.
Host Slippery Rock won the meet with 156 points while Kent State followed in second with 119 points.
Senior
Jonah DeWitt (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) posted Grove City's top finish Saturday as he earned second in the 10,000 meters. DeWitt recorded a time of 32 minutes, 15.63 seconds, which is the fifth-fastest time in program history.

Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) took third in the 200 meters with a time of 21.78, the fastest time by a Division III sprinter in the event. Mitchell, freshman

Gabe Dunlap (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and junior
Greg Wilson (Akron, Ohio/Revere) combined to take fourth in the 400-meter relay with a time of 42.92 seconds. That time is No. 2 all-time at the College.
Dunlap also finished fourth in the javelin with a best toss of 186 feet, 8 inches. He finished first among Division III javelin competitors. Senior
Ryan Lenhart (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 152-4 while classmate
Nick Petucci (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) took sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 43-10 3/4.

Luke Roberts (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) placed sixth in the 10,000 (33:00.37). Knowles took eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.65 seconds. Junior
Michael Singley (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) finished 10th in the 5000 with a time of 15:58.37 and freshman
Caleb Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) finished 10th in the long jump (21-1/4).
The Wolverines will compete in the Westminster Invitational next Saturday in New Wilmington.
