ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nine members of the Grove City College men's track and field team competed at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships, held Friday and Saturday at Ithaca College.
Junior
Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) and senior
Ryan Lenhart (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) both reached the podium in their respective events to help lead the Grove City effort. Mitchell took fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 48.90 seconds. Lenhart, meanwhile, finished sixth in the shot put with a season-best heave of 49 feet, 5 3/4 inches.
Grove City's 1600 relay team placed 16th as freshman
Jeremiah Knowles (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), junior
Isaac Busler (Butler, Pa./Butler), junior
Isaac Young (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) and junior
Greg Wilson (Akron, Ohio/Revere) combined for a time of 3:30.36.
Wilson, Knowles, freshman
Brandon Kendrew (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) and freshman
Caleb Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) teamed to take 20th in the 800 relay (1:33.64).
Senior
Nick Petucci (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) finished 21st in the triple jump with a best mark of 43-1. Haley marked at 42-10 1/4 in the triple jump, good for 22nd place.
Grove City finished with seven team points, good for 26th place.
The Wolverines will await the NCAA Championships qualifiers announcement later this weekend.
