The Wolverines surged to within 10-9 by scoring four times in a three-minute span, including three goals from senior attack Matt Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima). However, the Maroons (5-1) prevented Grove City from completing its comeback.

The Wolverines also received goals from senior midfielder Kobi Bui (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), junior midfielder Boden Davidson (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Christian) and sophomore attack Sawyer Strong (Westfield, Ind./Westfield).

Graduate student faceoff specialist Luke Rios (Centennial, Colo./Cherry Creek) recorded an assist, as did senior midfielders Alec Jones (Chesterfield, N.J./Notre Dam) and Jason Muench (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park). Senior defender Tyler Curry (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) also tallied an assist.

Rios won 19 of 23 faceoffs and led Grove City with nine ground balls. Blythe, Jones and junior faceoff specialist Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) all collected three ground balls.

Grove City accumulated a 51-47 edge in total shots. Roanoke held a 33-27 advantage in shots on goal. Grove City had 18 turnovers while Roanoke committed eight turnovers.
