GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team dropped a 25-16, 19-25, 25-16, 26-24 decision Wednesday night to visiting Thiel (18-6, 10-0) in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College. The decisive fourth set featured 18 ties and five lead changes.
Sophomore
Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) paced Grove City (11-12, 6-4) with a dozen kills while junior
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled), sophomore
Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and freshman
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) all posted nine kills.
Senior
Quintin Norris (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose-Wolcott) added eight kills. Sophomore setter
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) distributed 36 assists.
Malcolm and Norris both tallied four blocks while Kessler contributed three total blocks. Freshman libero
Ben McVey (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) matched a season high with 17 digs while Otto added 11 digs.
Thiel clinched the top seed in the season-ending conference tournament with Wednesday's win. Grove City owns second place in the conference, a half-game ahead of Hiram (5-4). Geneva is 5-5 while Saint Vincent is 4-5.
The Wolverines will visit Geneva at 7 p.m. Friday in conference action.
