GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team improved to 6-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by sweeping visiting Bethany on Senior Day, 25-7, 25-16 and 25-15 Saturday afternoon in the Grove City College Arena.
Sophomore
Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) posted eight kills for the Wolverines (11-11) while freshman
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) tallied seven kills. Senior
Cael McEwen (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) added a season-high six kills in Saturday's win.Â
Sophomore setter
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) recorded 20 assists. McEwen served two aces.Â
Defensively, junior
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Pa./Homeschooled) registered a match-high seven blocks. Gianneski and Otto both had four blocks while Fair and junior
Andrew Fisher (Apple Creek, Ohio/Central Christian) each had three blocks.Â
Freshman libero
Ben McVey (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) collected nine digs.Â
Prior to the match, Grove City honored McEwen,
Quintin Norris (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose-Wolcott) and
Jim Shyu (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), along with Fisher, who will graduate early.
Grove City will host conference leader Thiel (9-0 PAC) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
