YORK, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team's four-game winning streak ended Saturday as host York (Pa.) pulled out a 14-13 non-conference win over the Wolverines at Kinsley Field.
Grove City (5-6) trailed 13-10 after three quarters but rallied to tie the game with three goals in a three-minute span. Senior midfielder
Zachary Hougan (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) scored 81 seconds into the fourth quarter after receiving an assist from sophomore
Logan Fox (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian).
Junior attack
Mac Faircloth (Greensboro, N.C./Page) cut the lead to 13-12 by scoring with 11:43 left. Senior midfielder
Alec Jones (Chesterfield, N.J./Notre Dame) tied the game with a man-up goal at the 10:12 mark. Hougan assisted both of those goals.
However, York (6-2) reclaimed the lead when Blake Morton scored with 7:54 remaining in the game.
Hougan scored four of his six goals in the first half as the Wolverines owned a 9-8 halftime lead. Jones scored twice while graduate student midfielder

Luke Rios (Centennial, Colo./Cherry Creek) led the Wolverines with five ground balls. Zabroski collected three ground balls.

Danny Stone (Chantilly, Va./Flint Hill) made 15 saves for Grove City. York outshot Grove City, 49-31. Grove City turned over the ball 19 times while the Spartans finished with 11 turnovers.
Grove City returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference play next Saturday at 3 p.m. when Westminster visits Robert E. Thorn Field.
