NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team dropped a 14-13 decision in double overtime Saturday afternoon at No. 5 Christopher Newport in non-conference action at Jennings Stadium. Christopher Newport's Brett Jackson scored with 2:47 left in the second sudden death overtime period to give the Captains (4-0) the win.

Grove City trailed 10-6 midway through the third quarter but scored four times in a five-minute span to tie the game. Hougan scored three straight goals while Goad's unassisted goal with 50 seconds left in the period forged a 10-10 tie.
Blythe and Goad scored in a 55-second span of the fourth quarter to give the Wolverines a 13-12 lead. An unassisted goal from Christopher Newport's Logan Shassian tied the game with 2:17 left in regulation.

Ethan Binns (Saint John's, Fla./The Bolles School) both added assists for Grove City.
The Captains outshot Grove City, 54-37. Christopher Newport had 27 shots on goal while Grove City had 20 shots on goal. Grove City turned over possession 20 times while CNU committed 12 turnovers.

Samuel Busby (Doswell, Va./Patrick Henry) all caused turnovers.
Stone stopped 13 shots. He also had a team-leading seven ground balls.

The game featured six ties and four lead changes.
Grove City will face Roanoke at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Jacksonville, Fla., at Jacksonville University.
