MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team rallied from a 13-point deficit in the first half Wednesday night to secure a 65-55 victory at Allegheny in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the David V. Wise Center.

The win clinches Grove City's spot in the season-ending six-team conference tournament. The Wolverines improved to 14-7 overall and 11-5 in the conference.

Senior guard Jonah Bock (Erie, Pa./McDowell) bombed in five three-pointers as part of a 17-point outing for Grove City. Junior forward Mike Christenson (Oakton, Va./Trinity) also scored 17 points, including 3-for-4 accuracy from behind the three-point line.

Allegheny reclaimed a 32-24 lead on an Isaiah Portis layup but Christenson's three-pointer, a tip-in from senior forward Russ Gump (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and another Bock three-pointer forged a 32-32 tie. Bock's third three-pointer of the half gave Grove City a 35-32 lead but Allegheny guard Ryan Lang tied the game before halftime with a three-pointer.

Lang's three-point play with 13:21 left gave Allegheny a 49-45 lead. The Wolverines then held Allegheny without a field goal for the next 10 minutes as Grove City surged ahead with a 13-1 run.

Sophomore center Austin Johncour (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) tied the game at 49 with a tip-in while Bock's steal and layup gave Grove City the lead for good, 51-49. Cherry's layup with four minutes left gave Grove City a 58-50 lead.

Christenson and senior forward John Ward (Indian Land, S.C./Covenant Day, N.C.) both sank two free throws in the final 1:15 to cement the victory.
