GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped a 76-54 decision Wednesday night to visiting Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena. Thiel led 36-17 at halftime, then shot 65 percent (15 of 23) from the field in the second half to cement the win.

Mike Christenson (Oakton, Va./Trinity) paced Grove City (14-8, 11-6) with a dozen points. Sophomore center
Isaac Cherry (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Nordonia) added six points and a game-high eight rebounds. Cherry helped Grove City post a 33-28 edge in rebounds.Â
Christenson added three assists and a pair of steals for the Wolverines. Cherry blocked two shots. Grove City finished with 19 turnovers while Thiel committed eight turnovers.Â
Grove City finished the game 23 of 56 (41 percent) from the field while Thiel converted 30 of 55 (55 percent) field goal attempts. Marlon Ellerbee led Thiel (8-14, 7-11) with 17 points.
The Wolverines will host Bethany at 3 p.m. Saturday in the home finale. It will be Senior Day in the Grove City College Arena.Â
