MARIETTA, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's lacrosse team opened the 2025 season Wednesday night by pulling out a 12-10 win at Marietta in non-conference action.

Sophomore attacks Taylor Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Gwen Shilling (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) both scored in the final four minutes of the third quarter to give the Wolverines the lead for good after Marietta (0-1) had forged an 8-8 tie.

The Wolverines used unassisted goals in the fourth quarter by freshman midfielder Jess Robinette (Mohnton, Pa./Twin Valley) and junior attack Jackie Rowell (Reservoir, Md./Laurel) to help sew up the win.

Blythe and Shilling both scored three times for Grove City while Robinette scored twice and assisted on two goals. Senior attack Anna Korzeniewski (Boyds, Md./Clarksburg), sophomore midfielder Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) and freshman midfielder Mia Mygatt (Silver Spring, Md./Brookewood) all added goals for Grove City.

Blythe and Stevenson also had assists for Grove City, which held a 23-21 edge in total shots and a 17-13 advantage in shots on goal.

Korzeniewski's power play goal with 4:37 left in the first quarter gave Grove City a 1-0 lead. Marietta surged ahead, 3-1, five minutes into the second quarter but Grove City regained the lead on consecutive goals from Mygatt, Blythe, Robinette, Shilling and Stevenson.

Grove City led 6-5 at halftime.

Stevenson led Grove City with six ground balls.
