BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team improved to 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by securing a 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-12 victory Tuesday night over host Bethany in Hummel Field House.
Three Grove City men recorded double-digit kill totals, led by a 14-kill outing from sophomore
Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler). Senior
Quintin Norris (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose-Wolcott) and freshman
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) each pounded out 12 kills.
Sophomore
Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) added eight kills for Grove City (7-8, 2-0), which posted a .292 hitting percentage as a team.
Sophomore setter
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) served four aces for the Wolverines. Kessler recorded three aces and junior
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled) served two aces. Fair recorded 40 assists.
Malcolm led Grove City's defensive effort with four blocks. Fair, Gianneski and Malcolm all had two blocks. Gianneski and freshman libero
Ben McVey (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) both tallied 11 digs.
Grove City will host Geneva at 12 p.m. Saturday in conference action.
