GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team honored its eight seniors prior to its home game Saturday afternoon against Bethany. A junior made sure that Senior Day finished with a win for the Wolverines.

Reese Hasley (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) buried a go-ahead three-pointer with 26 seconds left to help the Wolverines earn a 64-62 Presidents' Athletic Conference victory over Bethany in the Grove City College Arena.
Grove City led 55-49 in the fourth quarter but Bethany (12-11, 9-9) rallied to take a 60-58 lead. After a steal by senior guard
Mara Polczynski (Irwin, Pa./Norwin), Hasley received a pass from Polczynski and drained a three-pointer from the right win.
Polczynski then helped seal the win with two free throws moments later.

Clara Hannon (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) each fired in 13 points for the Wolverines (14-9, 12-6). Polczynski and senior forward
Nevaeh Ewing (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) each added eight points for Grove City.
Grove City trailed 22-13 after one quarter and faced a 26-13 deficit early in the second period. The Wolverines rallied with an 18-5 run, sparked by Ewing's back-to-back three-pointers. Hannon, Hasley, Polczynski and junior center
Meredith Sherrerd (New Braunfels, Texas/New Braunfels) all scored from the field, cutting the margin to 31-27.
Hannon and Polczynski scored consecutive inside baskets to tie the game 31-31. Bethany led 33-31 at the half. Grove City then took its first lead of the second half, 37-35, when Hannon and senior guard
Jaden Davinsizer (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) hit consecutive three-pointers in the first two minutes of the third quarter.
A 6-0 run in the final 90 seconds of the quarter gave Grove City a 52-47 lead. Hannon tied the game at 47 with a free throw while sophomore guard
Alexa McDole (Evans City, Pa./Mars) broke the tie with a layup. Sophomore guard
Bethany Thompson (Exeter Township, Pa./High Point Baptist) capped the spurt with a three-point play.
Grove City finished the game 24 of 65 (37 percent) from the field while Bethany made 24 of 60 (40 percent) field goal attempts. Bethany outrebounded the Wolverines, 44-38. Polczynski led Grove City with eight rebounds.
Grove City turned over the ball 10 times for the game, including only two turnovers over the final 30 minutes. Bethany had 13 turnovers. Polczynski recorded six steals, along with three assists. Hannon assisted four field goals.
Kaedlee Potter led Bethany with 14 points. The game featured 12 lead changes and seven ties.

Grove City closes the regular season with consecutive road games in conference play. The Wolverines visit Geneva at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The regular season concludes next Saturday at Saint Vincent.
