Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) as its Swimmer of the Week while freshman
George Witte (Columbia, S.C./Covenant Classical Christian) earned Newcomer of the Week.
It is the third straight Swimmer of the Week award for Einolf and the second Newcomer of the Week award in as many weeks for Witte. Both men helped the Wolverines a 141-121 non-conference victory Saturday at Rochester.
Einolf won the 100 butterfly in 49.54 seconds, breaking a 40-year old pool record at Rochester. He also won the 100 breaststroke with a pool-record time of 55.89 seconds. Einolf ranks first in the conference this season in both events.
He also contributed to a pool record in the 200 medley relay, with a winning time of 1:32.71. Einolf also helped Grove City's 200 free relay to a winning time of 1:25.84. The Wolverines' 200 free relay team owns the top time in the conference this season.
Witte prevailed in the 200 free (1:46.01) Saturday in the win at Rochester. He also joined Einolf on the victorious 200 free relay (1:25.84). Witte placed second in the 50 free (21.51) and third in the 200 backstroke (2:02.54). His times in the 50 freestyle and 200 back both rank third in the conference.
Witte also earned Newcomer of the Week status October 21, in addition to the last two weeks.
Grove City (4-3) will compete in the Wheaton (Ill.) Invitational December 4-6.
