HIRAM, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's soccer team improved to 4-0-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by securing a 4-1 win Wednesday night at Hiram in conference action at Charles A. Henry Field.

Junior midfielder Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) scored twice for the Wolverines (7-2-2 overall) while sophomore midfielder Evan Yoder (Milton, Pa./Milton) and senior defender Luke Kimmich (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) also scored in the victory.

Gray gave Grove City the lead 59 seconds into the match when he blasted an unassisted goal into the upper right corner of the net. The lead grew to 2-0 at 14:48 when Yoder notched his second goal of the season. Senior midfielder Camden Thomas (North Lima, Ohio/South Range) and junior defender Theo Campbell (Robinson Township, Pa./Robinson Township Christian) both provided assists on the Yoder goal.

Gray then scored on a penalty kick at 26:33. Grove City led 3-0 at halftime. Hiram (6-5-1, 2-2-1) trimmed the lead to 3-1 at 78:55 on a goal by Erik Rangel Negrete. The Wolverines reclaimed a three-goal lead, however, when Kimmich scored on a penalty kick with 9:39 remaining in the match.

Grove City outshot Hiram, 17-11, including an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Grove City had six corner kicks while Hiram recorded one corner kick opportunity.

Freshman goalkeeper Keller Krieger (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence) made four saves to earn the win.

Gray leads Grove City with 10 goals this season. He leads the conference in goals and points (23). Gray now has 20 career goals. Krieger's 0.60 goals-against average leads the circuit.
