Grove City finishes undefeated in conference play

WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team concluded an undefeated run through the Presidents' Athletic Conference's regular season schedule Wednesday night by securing a 3-1 conference road win over Waynesburg (7-6-5, 2-4-5) at John F. Wiley Stadium.

Grove City (13-2-2, 10-0-1 PAC) will be the top seed in the upcoming six-team conference tournament. The Wolverines clinched the No. 1 seed last Wednesday with their 4-0 home win over Saint Vincent.

Grove City broke a 1-1 tie at 24:24 when sophomore midfielder Luke Ladas (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany Hills) scored his sixth goal of the season. The unassisted goal also marked Ladas's third game-winning score this autumn.

Senior midfielder Camden Thomas (North Lima, Ohio/South Range) boosted the lead to 3-1 at 34:10 with his fifth goal this year.

Grove City grabbed a 1-0 lead at 11:33 when senior midfielder Aidan Eck (Akron, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) turned a pass from junior midfielder Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) into his fifth goal of 2025. Gray notched his team-leading seventh assist on the play.

Waynesburg forged a 1-1 tie at 17:14 on a goal by Nick Bryan.

Grove City outshot the Yellow Jackets, 24-10, including a 12-5 margin in shots on goal. Each team merited five corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Keller Krieger (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence) made four saves to earn his 12th win of the season. His 12 wins are tied for No. 5 on Grove City's single-season list.

Gray leads Grove City with 13 goals and 33 points. The 33 points rank eighth in single-season program history while the 13 goals are tied for 10th. He, Eck and Ladas share the team lead with three game-winning goals.

As the top seed in the conference tournament, Grove City receives a bye to the semifinals and has home-field advantage throughout the tournament. The Wolverines will host either No. 4 Saint Vincent or No. 5 Geneva at Don Lyle Field next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Saint Vincent will host Geneva in a quarterfinal match Saturday at 4 p.m. in Latrobe.
