Super 6 Saturday

PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College women's soccer team captured its sixth straight victory Saturday afternoon by rolling to a 6-0 win at Chatham in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at UPMC Graham Field. It is the Wolverines' sixth consecutive shutout.

Junior midfielder Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) helped lead Grove City's offensive attack by posting her second career hat trick. Graduate student midfielder Moriah Miller (Kidron, Ohio/Central Christian), sophomore forward Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and freshman midfielder Ady Waters (Port Clinton, Ohio/Tree of Life Christian) also scored goals for the Wolverines (8-4-2, 7-0-1).

Stevenson gave Grove City a 1-0 lead at 28:58 when she scored the first of her three goals. Freshman forward Emily Horst (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) recorded the first of her two assists.

White doubled the lead less than eight minutes later as she scored her sixth goal of 2025. Horst also provided the assist on White's goal.

Grove City broke open the match by scoring three times in an 11-minute span of the second half. Stevenson scored 6:46 into the second half after receiving an assist from senior defender Karly Keller (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area). Stevenson completed her hat trick at the 56:08 mark with her team-high 11th goal of the season. Freshman forward Lauren Muhanna (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) assisted Stevenson.

Waters capped that three-goal flurry at 62:00 with her second goal of the year. Senior forward Annie Vannoy (Waldoboro, Maine/Medomak Valley) assisted Waters.

Miller closed the scoring with her first goal of the season at 74:51. Junior forward Hannah Plunkard (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) assisted Miller's score.

Grove City outshot Chatham, 28-9, including a 16-4 edge in shots on goal. Chatham (8-5-2, 5-3) had three corner kicks while Grove City had two corners.

Junior Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) and freshman Ella Lotz (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) combined for the shutout. Mills made three saves in 68:19 of action. Lotz played the final 21:41 and stopped one shot.

Saturday's three-goal effort marked Stevenson's first regular season hat trick. She scored three goals against Allegheny in the semifinals of last season's conference tournament. Stevenson has 10 goals in eight conference matches. Muhanna now leads the Wolverines with six assists. Horst has a goal and four assists over the Wolverines' last three matches.

Grove City hosts Saint Vincent (12-2-1, 6-1-1) in conference action Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Don Lyle Field. Grove City leads the conference with 22 points. Saint Vincent is third with 19 points. Waynesburg University, whom the Wolverines visit in the October 29 regular season finale, is second with 20 points and a 6-0-2 record.
