HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball continued the opening week of its first inaugural season Saturday by dropping a pair of matches at the Juniata Invitational. Stevenson pulled out a 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19 win over Grove City in Saturday's opener. The Wolverines then fell to Puerto Rico-Rio Pedras in the nightcap, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17.
Senior
Quintin Norris (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose-Wolcott) recorded a team-leading 11 kills against Stevenson while freshman
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) added seven kills.Â
Sophomore setter
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) recorded 22 assists. Norris and Otto both served two aces.Â
Otto and junior
Andrew Fisher (Apple Creek, Ohio/Central Christian) both posted three blocks. Freshman libero
Ben McVey (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) had six digs while Norris and Otto each chalked up five digs.Â
Sophomore
Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) led Grove City with five kills against Puerto Rico-Rio Pedras. Juniors
Derrick Lambert (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) and
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled) both had four kills. Fair totaled 20 assists.Â
Fair also had four blocks while Kessler and Malcolm each had three blocks. Otto recorded six digs.Â
Grove City returns to action next Saturday with a home tri-match against Mount Aloysius and Olivet. Action starts at noon in the Grove City College Arena.Â
