LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team earned 12th place overall -- and second among NCAA Division III programs -- Saturday at the Lock Haven Invitational. Grove City finished the Crimson race with 293 team points. Division II Walsh won the team event with 56 points and D-II Findlay claimed runner-up with 101 points.

Grace Smith (Dover, Ohio/Dover) led the Wolverines by finishing 35th overall. Smith completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 22 minutes, 47.6 seconds.

Ella Lyle (Hurricane, W.Va./Ignite) captured 46th place with a time of 22:55.4 while sophomore
Cayla Lawrence (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) finished 52nd (23:02.7). Freshman
Carli Freeman (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) took 87th place in a time of 23:37.5.
Senior
Virginia Williams (Copley, Ohio/Copley) crossed in 111th place (24:01.3) while senior
Julia Bauer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) finished 114th. Bauer recorded a time of 24:07.5.
Junior
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) rounded out the lineup by placing 116th. Karwowski finished in a time of 24:09.7.
Unattached runner Ada Rand won the race with a time of 21:00.7. The race featured 241 runners.
Grove City also competed in the White race after the Crimson event, placing seventh out of 15 teams in that event. Freshman
Sarah Sabella (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) finished 15th in the White race with a time of 25:00.4.
The Wolverines will compete in the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational next Saturday.
